The 4th largest fair in the US and Canada, "The Big E" includes a fabulous Knitting Competition in its Fiber Arts Categories. All entries are judged using the Danish Judging system, meaning that each item is given an award based on its own merit, rather than on a comparison with other submissions. The event is held at the fairgrounds in Springfield, Mass. Entries can be mailed in, and will be returned via mail. Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your work! Participants can submit up to 3 entries, which are due at the end of July or beginning of August, for exact dates and more info, check in periodically to their website https://www.thebige.com/
Our very own Alicia H. designed and made this All-over Bavarian Cabled Cowl. This lovely cowl took 3rd place in TKGA's Neck & Neck design contest. This project also won prizes at the New York State Fair this year.
Congratulations Alicia!
If you are a member of TKGA, you can also read Alicia's article "Stitch Anatomy: Austrian/Bavarian Stitch Patterns" in the Cast On Magazine - Winter 2024-2025.
NOTE: There were no entries for the Flap Mitten category.

GUILD AWARDS: For 2024, Twisted Stitches of CNY planned to award two prizes, one for Innovative Design and one in the Senior Knitters category. Unfortunately, there were no submissions in the Senior category, so two Innovative Design awards were given. Winners were chosen blindly by the judge of the fair. This year's prizes were $25 and a membership to the Guild.
Winners for 2024 were Alicia Henn and Helen Alford.
